Peanut Butter, Cinnamon and Banana Porridge
MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR OATS
There is nothing better then starting a cold winters day with a bowl of porridge - we like to think of it as a hug in a bowl. The best thing about porridge is how many different flavours and varieties you can play around with. Our nut butters are the perfect addition to your morning oats to pack a punch of flavour, plus giving you a boost of protein and healthy fats to start your day.
We love topping our porridge with one of the best flavour combinations - peanut butter, cinnamon, banana & honey.
What you need:
1/2 cup rolled oats
1 cup plant-based or dairy milk
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp chia seeds
1 tsp hemp seeds
1 tbs coconut chips
Drizzle of honey
Combine oats and milk of your choice in a small saucepan on a gentle heat. Keep stirring for 5-10 minutes until the oats have cooked (you may need more or less milk depending on the oats you use).
Once cooked, transfer porridge into a bowl and top with the cinnamon, chia seeds, banana slices, hemp seeds, coconut chips, honey and a generous spoonful of Fix and Fogg Super Crunchy peanut butter.
This recipe will work well with almost all of our nut butters. Our favourite nut butters to top this porridge with are Super Crunchy peanut butter, Dark Chocolate peanut butter or our Everything Butter.
If oats aren’t your thing, you can make the porridge with buckwheat or quinoa flakes.
We love to cook our oats in coconut milk for a super creamy breakfast bowl.
You can cook the oats in the microwave if you’re short on time or if you want to make this at work.
