about FiX & FOGG
Five years ago, I started Fix & Fogg with my wife Andrea when we were expecting our first child. Previously both lawyers, we made the choice to leave behind the corporate life and dedicate our time and energy to creating something meaningful, sustainable, and delicious. We decided to make the best butters.
We love that we make every jar of Fix & Fogg from start to finish in our factory in Wellington. From designing our labels to our carefully blended peanut butter, we’re completely hands-on throughout the entire process. We think our award-winning butters are so popular because people can taste the difference in a product that’s handmade by humans who care about quality.
We’re really proud of the fact that our peanut butter has now won awards in New Zealand, Australia and Singapore - but even more so that people like you are out there supporting this journey that we're on and helping us grow as a business. You’re our people.
We wouldn’t be, couldn’t be doing this without you.
What's in a name?
Our name comes from two characters from the classic 1873 adventure novel, Around the World in 80 Days by Jules Verne: Phileas Fogg and Detective Fix.
Like the story, the idea of embarking on a great journey, taking risks and trying new things resonated with us - you can get a taste for it in our unusual peanut butter varieties, innovative packaging and although we're not quite sold in 80 countries around the world... maybe one day we could do just that.
Our work with charities means a lot to us. We believe in giving back to the community that supports us - it's a big part of who we are and what makes us tick. We donate to the following charities:
City Missions | Auckland, Christchurch & Wellington
Women's Refuges | Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch & Dunedin
Ronald McDonald Houses | Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch & Invercargill
Love Soup | Whangarei, Rotorua & Tokoroa
We also believe in doing our bit for the environment which is why we’re big on reducing food waste, recycling, offering a public jar return at our Eva Street window (we clean and refill them), and delivering our products within the CBD by cargo bike with our buddies at NoCar Cargo.
We work with a number of community-based fundraising and pest trapping programmes (such as Predator Free).
If you have community focused idea or event then please get in touch as we’d love to support you. You can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We're also proud to be one of only a few food manufacturers in New Zealand that is Living Wage accredited. Because happy people, make the best butters.
